Optimizations:
Here is a list of programs that I use to help optimize and make a computer run smoother. It may not make it run perfectly, but it will help. Click on the name of the file to the left to download that file.
- Auslogics Disk Defrag:
- This is a free defrag tool that will defrag and optimize the hard drive for you. The newer version includes a scheduler tool that will let you schedule when to run the disk defrag. NOTE: Windows Vista and Windows 7 will automatically defrag your hard drive when the computer is idle.
- Auslogics Registry Defrag:
- This tool will optimize and defrag the registry. This will help the computer by removing old data that is no longer needed and make the registry access faster.
- CCleaner:
- This is one of the simplest and my favorite tools. This tool will remove temporary Internet files, and remove and clean up registry problems.
- Dial-A-Fix:
- This handy little tool helps to fix common and persistant problems with Windows XP, 2000, or Windows 98.
- Tera Copy:
- For those who move large files, it can be frustrating to sit there and watch it take and estimated time of 5 min to move the file 30 minutes later. This free program will help move those files faster and more effiecently.
